ebuilt short engine + head - £150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought a rebuilt 1500cc MG midget short engine 2-3 yrs ago. The project never got under way and as such the engine has sat stored in a garage workshop.
The block had been re-bored, stripped & painted, new pistons, reground crank, new shells etc
Complete with sump, timing chain and cover.
Obviously its been stood a while so would benefit from a once over but Its basically ready to swap over your ancillaries, put a head and drop straight in.
All couriers I've contacted won't touch it now due to its weight/size so would have to be collection only form its storage location in Hexham, Northumberland.
There is a spare 1500 head also stored with the engine. This is not a recon and as such may require work.
A recon kit will set you back around £275 plus before you add any labour or re-bore etc. It also means your car would have to be off the road during this process.
Here you have the perfect opportunity to have an engine ready to swap over without missing any of our fine weather!!!!

1966 Sprite Mk 3
BRG (colour is GN29), with wire wheels with black trim, hood and tonneau. In overall nice condition, though not perfect. I finished the rebuild of this car in 1994 (do you ever really finish?) and it has been in use ever since. In the winter it wears a 'fastback' hardtop, believed to be an Ashley, which is included. Recent work includes new rear brake linings, relined brake master cylinder (the correct 3/4" bores), dampers and a rebuilt engine, with unleaded head, which has done some 2000 miles.
This car has a heritage certificate, and I have gone to some trouble to retain its originality. I would definitely prefer it to go to a home where these points are valued, and I would hate to see it turned into some ghastly kit car with the corrct bits replaced by spurious new parts like ford gearbox, tele shocks, gimcrack modern steering wheel and the like.
I'm sorry to see it go, but I'm not getting any younger and I'm not as fit as I was. I'm looking for £3000. Contact me by email and I can send you photos, or, even better, I can arrange for you to come and see it.

MG Midget 1500 (1978)
MG Midget 1500 - bj 1978 - american(LHD) - body in original
and good condition (no rust and treated at bottomside with anti-rust) One of the better midgets 1500 and quite rare.
Engine overhaul completely done on Sept 2008 : new cilinderhead,new pistons,new bearings,new fuelpump...
(Oliedruk : 42 PSI at idle & 62 PSI running)
Also new clutch installed and new supplementary oil cooler.
Car is very performant after this overhaul and also thanks to very good working Weber carburettor.
Very economic roadster(+/- 16 MilesPergallon or 7l/100km)
Interior completely renewed : sport steering wheel, new carpets,new seat supports
new shock absorbers front + rear and car has been lowered for better roadholding/behaviour.
