The British Car Enthusiasts Rally 2008 will be at Wicksteed Park, Kettering, on Sunday 7th September and will again be supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK).
Since 1980, Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK) has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. in 2007, we raised over £1200 for this worthwhile cause, while bringing some happiness to two terminally ill children in a direct way by having them at the event as our guests for the day. In 2008 we hope to beat the amount raised, but will need all the help we can get to do so.
Wicksteed Park in Kettering, Northamptonshire, is about 20mins North past Silverstone, almost at Rockingham Raceway.
Entrance to Wicksteed Park is a mere £6 per car (any number of passengers), it has wonderful landscaping for outdoor picnics etc, on site food facilities and plenty of ride/arcade facilities. All in all, its a great day out to have a good laugh and spend time with friends or family of all ages.
The event is open to all marques with a British Heritage including Aston Martin, Caterham, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, Mini, MG, Morgan, Morris, Noble, Riley, Rover, Triumph, TVR, Wolseley or any other.
Everyone is of course welcome, as clubs or individuals, we are aiming to have record numbers on display at the event, and we are looking to those who would be interested in helping us reach the targets.
Club display areas are also available (FOC) to those who book one in advance.

Now in its 28th year, the Tredegar House Vintage Car Rally is organised by the Gwent Branch of Leukaemia Research. Bruce and Mandy Womack founded the Gwent Branch of the charity in 1979 when Mandy’s son Timothy was diagnosed with leukaemia. Sadly, six-year-old Timothy died a year later.
Mandy Womack says: “Since Timothy’s death, a lot of advances have been made in research but childhood leukaemia is the single largest cancer-killer of children in the UK. In the past 27 years, the Tredegar House Rally has raised over £575,000 towards research into blood cancers. All proceeds from this year’s event will continue to fund research to help improve treatments and find a cause and cure for leukaemia and related blood cancers.”
Set in the parkland of Tredegar House, the Car Rally features over 1,500 exhibits, from Ford Model Ts from the early 1900s to Cadillacs, sports cars marques including Marcos, Stag, Lotus, Morgan, Jaguar, MG and many others. Also, vintage and veteran motorcycles, commercial vehicles, tractors, stationary engines and military vehicles will be on display.
Arena events will take place all day including: displays by the Wye Valley Axemen, parade of vehicles, and a vintage and a classic car auction run by Newport Auctions.
